this forum has been really great help to me with my tractors and mowers... i hope this problem can be resolved.

an issue that has bugged me about this little tractor since i bought it... it just seems to me that it runs too DARNED hot! i keep the radiator clean, inside and out and don't run it wide open...

i know several owners of this model discussed it in this forum, but i've never known if anyone came up with a solution.

the height of the summer, mowing and bush hogging, it's an irritating thing. i love the little tractor, it's great for what i need/use it for, but this issue in the summertime, bugs the heck out of me.

anyone have any ideas?

On some models, removing the side panels helps with cooling. Would it be possible on yours? Is there room for a bigger fan?

I have a Mahindra 4510 that had the same problem. I listed some months ago about it and several had suggestions. I lowered the battery and removed the windshield washer tank so more airflow could get to the radiator. I added an electric fan also.
One of the biggest things for me was how much chaft and seeds and debris got in the small radiator fins. I used compressed air to blow it out now and it runs well now.
Not the best radiator/cooling system design in my estimation.

What RPM are you running it at? you could be lugging the engine. The engine will stay the coolest at PTO RPM. (most air flow and coolant flow)

when i'm bush hogging, i have to stop and blow the radiator out with a compressor every couple of hours, and in between, when the temp gets up to the 3/4 mark, i carry a leaf blower (as someone suggested) in the FEL and stop and blow it out with that.

i keep the radiator topped off with the universal type coolant... 50/50 mix (i didn't know if it took special coolant of not like my cars, so i got the universal)

i may try it without the sheet metal, but it really looks like the way it has the foam seals between it and the radiator, they want to ensure that the air is sucked thru the shroud.

as for RPM's, i've tried running it wide open, i've tried running it easy...

after this season is over, i think i'll take it to my dealer and see if we can find a thicker radiator that will fit into it. i do that with the trucks i tow with...

Mine ran too hot when mowing and plowing hard in the deer fields as well. Tried everything- Blowing radiator out regularly, cleaning the screen often, changing coolant- it still ran too warm. Not hot, but too warm in the upper range.

After several post and reading other Mahindra owners fixes, I lowered the battery- problem solved!
Still have to keep radiator clean but it maintains midrange temp now when working hard and cools down quickly as well.

Try that first before spending $$ on custom radiator build, worked for me!

Just my :2cents: worth. Good Luck

i tried removing the sheet metal sides as suggested elsewhere, that helped some. it still gets up to the 3/4 mark on the gauge. before, it would redline if i allowed it to.

i wonder if removing the cowl in the backside of the radiator and installing a larger fan would help.

Lower the battery and problem should be over

i've seen that comment a couple of times, but i don't remember the battery being in the way. it sits in a tray in the very front of the tractor. i don't remember it blocking the radiator in anyway. i'll look and see though to make sure.

If the top of the battery is higher than the bottom of the radiator, it is blocking air flow. Only the top half of the radiator has enough airflow and will prevent proper cooling when running hard. The 3510 and 4110 has narrow fins in radiator that will block easily and restrict airflow. It is a design flaw in the radiator specs.. I lowered mine and it NEVER runs above midrange.

Mahindra sells a battery box kit that will lower it down between the frame rails or it can be fabricated if you have welder.
