Mahindra 2810 steering linkage

Hi, I was using my 2810 to cut a trail through the woods today and all of a sudden I have no steering at all. The steering wheel and shaft connected to it actually pull right out. Is this just a pin or something that has broke that links the steering shaft to the front axle?

Steering on 2810's is hydraulic. The steering wheel goes to a hydro control unit behind the dash.

I should ave stated that my 2810 is shuttle shift (gear) and not hysrostatic

Ok, but the steering is still controlled by a dual stem hydraulic cylinder, which runs off of the same pump as the 3 point lift. Sounds like you might have lost a roll pin out of the hydro steering control sector.

thank you for the reply. where exactly is that pin located? the shaft that the steering wheel is attached to has splines on the bottom that appear to be in good shape. the entire shaft and steering wheel just pull straight up and out of the steering column and I cannot figure out how to attach it back. What exactly does the end of that shaft attach to and how does it attach?

If its spines it should fit right back in but has to find a certain grove... not sure what holds it in ill try and look it up

I thought the same thing, but I cannot get the splined shaft to go all the way back in. I pressed really hard and tried many different positions but I cant get it to go back in. I shined a flashlight down the tube the shaft goes into and I don't see anything obstructing it. Thanks for checking on this. I am eagerly awaiting your response

Can you take a picture of the end of the shaft and were it separated?

What it looks like to me from reading you issue is that the cross pin that holds everything together either worked loose or broke.. it has to be aligned just right with the star shaft for everything to fit up... a picture would help a lot in this case. have you taken off the dash and what not to get better access to it?
