Update, nice looking tractor had a antifreeze leak, (the owner was not telling me the truth) had it on Friday 10 days ago has been in the JD dealer shop ever since. Found out the leak was between the timing chain cover and the engine block. They had to split the tractor in two, front wheels and radiator separated from the rest of the tractor.
Took the oil pan off to clean up the area to reseal, also replaced the water pump. Even though the tractor warranty expired the local JD dealer said he felt JD would back the repair by picking up a portion of the costs due to the drive train warranty just passing the expiration date. JD told the dealer they would not pick up any of the costs. I am now waiting for customer assistance to review the decision. My feeling is come on a tractor with 204 hours the dealer taking photos of the poor job that was done at the time of assembly (missing areas of seal on block) should merit some relief from John Deere. I am waiting for the decision should know in 2 days. Total cost for the repair including water pump $1280.00 Ouch!
