I have a 94 LX178 bought new and still in great shape. Just noticed the radiator is corroded and leaking. I ordered a used one off ebay. But are there other options ? I know it's old but still runs great and does the job. I added a 48" deck and powerflo bagger that is much newer than the tractor. So I hate to give up on it for a newer $$ one. Has anyone had one re-cored or an alternative ?

With the cost of mechanic or general shop labor being $80-100/hour today, I think the $80-120 ebay replacement is the most cost-effective option.

I am the mechanic/shop LOL I ordered one off ebay that says "doesn't leak" . I have to wonder since the last year for these was 1998. In the meantime I talked to my radiator shop and he seems confident he could re-core it. Should have asked him first. Says he will pressure test the ebay one no charge and give me a price to re-core. If it isn't outrageous $ I'll have him go ahead and keep the e-bay for a spare. Thanks

I was referring to what a radiator shop labor rate may be
