Good to know and duh on my part. And at 30,000 lbs or more I'll bet they can get stuck. There are Versatile tractors all around here and I never noticed. Is there a cable on each side up front?

Just one cable. I first saw one on a Case IH quad trac pulling a scraper for me. I had to ask. Had no clue.

We use the cables on combines too, but ran from the rear to the front near the final drives, way to easy to pull the rear ends out of a combine. A few around here have the cables on there 2 wheel drive and front wheel assist tractors, pulled a few of those out from under a tractor over the years, not fun and a bit expensive.

ANY TIME I pull one of my tractors on a HARD pull, I run a cable or chain to the rear...

IF you don't, sooner or later you WILL break a bell housing!
