Leinbach PHD?

Local implement guy has these for $375 incl. 9" or 12" auger. Looks like a good price....Is there anything specific that I need to check to make sure It'll fit my BX24?

My Leinbach 12" has survived a long time despite my tender mercies - like driving it with a 60 hp tractor. I don't know about fitting to the BX but I can vouch for Leinbach PHD durability. I've wiped off lots of drive bolts and even the thick plate that the gearbox hangs from has been twisted on my rig - but the gearbox itself has held up just fine. $375 is dirt cheap if it is the same animal.

As much as I cussed mine, especially after it breaks shear bolts everytime I spin it, I have to admit that the gear box is pretty tough. To save time in the field, I swapped form grade 2 to grade 5 shear bolts. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif At the time I didn't care if I destroyed it. I was sick of changing the bolts!!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Anyway, I've now broken off several grade 5 shear bolts with no damage to the gear box. I did actually twist a 12" auger in half with it though. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Hi Snal,

You may want to pickup the Pat's easy change, this will increase the lift....BX 3PT cannot go as high as the bigger guys. Maximum digging deep may be 3 1/2'.

It's also probably a good time to re-link Charliebrn's 3PH mod.
I actually drilled 2 sets of holes at 3/4" and 1.5" for a little more flexibility.
They make 42" and 36" augers as well, as an alternate route, if needed.

Leinbach makes a couple of different models. If memory serves me there was a 7300 or 7200 model for the subcompacts. Ask the guy which model it is.

I have a 7400 which fits on my B7510 okay, also fit my jinma. It works like you wouldn't believe, but you may break a sheer pin or two. I actually have stopped the auger in rock and it didn't break, dropped the lift by accident while driving and it broke. These things are heavy as heck so be prepared...my back will never be the same.
