I've had a Leinbach PHD on longterm loan from a friend & just agreed to fork over cash (getting a great deal, but the friend might be borrowing it back on occasion) for it so it will be mine permanently. I'm not sure if its a L7300, L7200, or L7200jr (update: probably a L7200, as a see the hole for the guide rod & looking at the color, which might not mean much & size of the hoop), but it more or less fits on my Kubota L3200.

Need to get a photo of it on my tractor here at some point.
Does anybody know if there is a hydraulic down pressure kit available for Leinbach PHDs? I couldn't see any on Leinbach's website or on ETA. If not, anybody know of a generic kit I might be able to adapt? Or would I just be better off on welding on a couple shafts on the spine above the gearbox & finding some weights to hang on them?
Question 2... What is the optimal way to setup a PHD? I fiddled with all 3 toplink holes & the various holes along the PHD spine trying to get the most height possible, but no matter what combo I tried, the tip of the auger would frequently end up barely dragging on the ground. I'm assuming the lowest toplink hole & the hole in the spine that resulted in the hoop being as vertical as possible when the 3pt was all the way up would result in the most lift. Or are my calculations off? I've thought about trying to modify it slightly and raise the hoop an inch or 2, but wanted to see if anybody else had any bright ideas (and to see if there was a down pressure kit that might be messed up by the mods) first. It doesn't drag much, mostly when driving over less than smooth ground, but enough to make me at least think about doing something.
The 9" augur that comes with it is extremely sturdy & has meaty carbide teeth on it. It probably does well in rocks, but frequently stalls out a foot or 2 down when it hits some of our clay. I ended up getting a cheap 4" or 6" augur which does its best to corkscrew into the same clay. Makes for decent pilot holes. I might get new thinner sharper teeth or a more aggresive spiral tip for the 9" if it's possible. But it has me thinking about down-pressure as well.
