Hey all,

I took apart my LA145 to clean the carb out/replace old parts but I can't seem to keep the mower running. It starts strong but puts out a bit of black smoke, sputters, and dies all within ~20 seconds. I managed to not pay attention to the carburetor linkage when I was disassembling it so I'm assuming that's where the problem lies. I've looked-up diagrams online (shout out to this forum for being super helpful in the past) but can't find any setup the same way mine. I've attached a photo of my carb setup with what appears to be choke linkage (see arrow). If anyone could point me in the right direction with getting this straightened out, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I do that more often than I'd like to admit. Photo actually attached now.

Good photo. Sorry, but I can't see anything wrong to help out.

The rod is not connected properly to the lever, and there could be a plastic grommet missing. It may be the angle of the photo but it looks like the float bowl is not seated correctly.

Just looking at the photo again and I think the bowl is installed 180 out, the fuel solenoid is inter fearing with the throttle linkage

I'll flip the float bowl around and make sure it's properly seated tomorrow then. I couldn't find a plastic grommet on any pictures of other LA145 carb assemblies and don't recall seeing one during disassembly but I'll keep an eye out for one. Any pointers on how the linkage should go?

Thanks for your help!

Not sure if I can explain this but the rod needs to enter the lever from the back side having the offset bend sit in the hole.
Currently the rod enters the front side and the straight section of shaft is jammed in the lever hole.

It may not require the grommet, it's just a little plastic ring that fits onto the hole on the lever, the throttle lever should defiantly have them.
