My new L6060HST is the first Kubota I've owned with the new style treddle

When depressing the pedal to go forward, there is very little play and the machine moves almost immediately. In reverse however, I have to press the pedal down over an inch before the tractor moves. There was very little play in the old style HST pedals on all the other Kubotas I've owned.

I've learned from experience that messing with the pedal adjustments on an HST tractor can be tricky and the manual warns against it. The play is annoying but not enough to take the tractor back to the dealer. I'm curious if this is normal and if anyone else with the new style treddle has noticed this.

Trickier yet! It is by electricity as there are no hard linkage but it doesn't mean it is not adjustable to a degree! I can't remember how loose of how far they have to move but I very well might be one later today!

Ya, the grands are all fly by wire for the go pedal now, no mechanical linkage. Will take a look at my L4060 tonight & see how much free play I have in forward & reverse. Never noticed so probably not much.

The IntelliPanel on L47 has a screen for adjusting the pedal settings. I don't remember what all you can adjust (because I never changed it) but I do remember that mine came from the factory with reverse set to be less sensitive than forward. I left it alone since that seems safer but maybe yours is set too much less? (of course, that's assuming L6060 has an IntelliPanel, I don't actually know)

The L6060 also has the adjustable HST response control feature on the Intellipanel. It adjusts how quickly the tractor reacts to pedal pressure and how fast the pedal returns to neutral. It doesn't seem to do anything for the pedal play. I haven't checked the service / diagnostic menu yet to see if there is anything in one of the lettered option menus. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Ran the L4060 for a few hours tonight. Free play on reverse was maybe half an inch tops. Forward was a hair less. Seems about right to me.

I played with the HST sensitivity when I first got the machine, then left it somewhere in the middle. That's 1 thing I detest about Kubota... 1 button to run the whole control panel, all dozens & dozens of functions. JD has a knob dedicated to HST sensitivity so you can actually adjust it on the fly.

Sensitivity just means how quickly & smoothly it filters pedal input vs. swash plate movement. It wouldn't cause any more or less free play in the pedal. But it would engage more slowly if you had it set to the smooth end of the spectrum.

I was at the dealership yesterday getting filters and oil for routine maintenance. I talked to the service manager and asked him about the L6060 pedal play. He said he gets quite a few questions from owners like me who are used to the old style treddle. Kubota claims the play is a designed safety feature to prevent tractor movement from an accidental bump of the pedal. Makes sense I guess.

Please note that this is a very minor issue. I could easily get used to the play if I weren't constantly going back and forth between the new pedal on the L6060 and my MX5800 with the old type. Anyway, thanks for your input everyone.
