New to me L4150, how do you determine oil level in 4 wheel dr front end, this is one I just purchased and am tryinh to check everything before I use it, I see there is a filler hole on top of the axle, how do you determine what level the oil should be at, I have a manual ordered but it has not come in yet, any help appreciated.

Assuming it is the same as my L4200, the front axle has two bolts on it between the center pivot and the hubs - a big one on one side (right) and a little one on the other (left). Mine are viewed from the front. Take out both bolts, fill through the big one - when oil dumps out of the little one, it's full.

The Front rear or the axle ends? The axle ends are filled like JayC has described. The rear itself has a nut on the top right side and has a dip stick attached to it. Fill to the level on the stick when the plug is screwed in fully.

Hope this helps.

The 4150 should have a dip stick on the threaded plug on top of the front axle. You still need to add oil at the ends (hubs) or bevel gear housing.

Well its back to the Kubota place, there is a plug on top of the axle but there is not a dip stick attached, I saw the nuts on top of the axle and removed one, it has an o-ring attached, how full do you fill this.

Well, my 3750 has the dip stick and it has the same front end, so... Just fill her up to with-in an inch or so of the top and it'll be good.

I'm thinking the prevous owner didn't do a lot of maint, on the tractor, looks like the plug on top of the axle is a pipe plug and it doesn;t go in but a couple threads, I'm going to order the proper plug with the dipstick, I think I will get the levels right and run it a while and then change the oil out again, thanks for the help, this tractor has a few minor things that need to be corrected but I believe I'm really going to like this thing once I get all the little problems corrected

The cases at ends of the front axles are drained with the bottom plug, filled with top plug and the middle plug sets your level, fill the case until its coming out that small plug. Confusesd yet? Mine leak alot so I'm topping them up often.
