Anybody been around any of the Kubota lawn tractors? PLEASE!

This is the 4th year that I have had a G2160. I have about 650 hours on it so far, and it does a good job. The only thing I have had go bad is an electronic control module last year - I could start the tractor and run it, but it wouldn't shut off with the key. I think it was about $80.

It does a good job of cutting my hilly, rough 4 acres. I love the diesel engine - lots of power and great fuel economy.

sparkkky, can you give some more details on how you'll be using the rig? The one you mention is one of Kubota's lightest and is a Lawn tractor. The one other reply, mentioned a G2160 wich is Kubota's heaviest garden tractor. They wouldn't be a good comparison.

I can't say I have a lot of knowledge of the lighter new mowers but I just bought a used G1900 for 2250. It is a pretty heavy diesel and if you have much yard or want to push snow etc. you may want to go with a used diesel. Are you set on a new one, is the other question?

Sparky I was hoping an owner would come in but they haven't! The Kubota lawn mowers are built to the same standard as the larger tractors and they do work well and stay out of the shops. I've got several previous model lawn tractors out that have far exceeded any life expectations for a lawn tractor! The two I'm thinking of came in trade with over two thousand hours from a commercial account and they cosmetically looked more like five hundred hours. They are both mowing lawns for the home owners now and they love them, one the daughter operates and mows about four acres between two places. The other one is on about two acres. Neither have had any more then belts,blades and a bearing or two replaced.

The units have not changed that much from them to the new ones and we haven't had any of the new ones in for more then oil changes and normal servicing.
