I took advantage of the 0% Financing available right now.

When they were doing the contract they asked what do you have for insurance (including damage, not just fire and theft).

I was not sure what was covered and they wrote up contract without rolling it into monthly bill.

I'd have to provide proof of insurance if it was covered.

Well turns out as soft of expected Homeowners will not cover any damage on "Wheeled Vehicles".

So I had to sign up for Kubota insurance and must pay all 4 years up front. They will rebate difference if I pay off early.

So I asked how do I sign up and pay and they said wait for your first loan payment.

Well how do they enforce I buy it if they already gave me the loan?
They gonna take the tractor back if I don't buy it.
Seems a little loosy goosy.

I really prefer not have any except liability which I am covered for.

Any had to deal with this without it being rolled into the loan?

Yes, just did it and saved 50% or ~$16 per month on the payment. I called my insurance agent and asked, they knew exactly what I was talking about and $78 per year later I was set. They even faxed the needed paper work to the dealer for me.

My home owners covers my tractor, and sent info to Kubota dealer. There is one open issue that you will find is coverage when not at your property.

It was $96 /year (on $13K tractor) through Kubota but it does cover off your property.

I had to back up and get insurance on my tractor too.

Homeowners insurance only covers it on your property.

Auto insurance also doesn't cover it on your trailer. It covers the trailer but not the contents.

To add it on my homeowners policy for off site use was $161. a year. Kubota was $78. a year. And I pay it annually, as a matter of fact its due in a few days.

Yeap that would make sense, the price depended on the value of the machine and I was told that it was covered no matter where it was. I can confirm that though.

My homeowners does cover it with no special rider additions, but I think it makes more sense to go with Kubota's coverage (in my case ~$90/yr). The deductible is less, the coverage is better and I don't have to take it in the shorts for the next 3 years if something does happen.

I bought a new BX2350 a year ago, getting Kubota's insurance six months later after I learned that my home owner's policy doesn't cover the unit while off my property. Though I have no commercial aspirations, I want to know that everything is covered whether at a neighbors place or in transit on a trailer.

I like the coverage and working with the Kubota insurance people was a breeze.

Kubota was considerable cheaper on the RTV900, higher on the 3940 and slightly cheaper on the ZD326P. This is compared to the company that has my home policy (Germania). I have Kubota Insurance on the RTV900 and the ZD326P.

Be aware if you buy the Kubota insurance when you buy the equipment and pay off early they will cancel your insurance when you pay it off. And then call and offer to insure it for you. At least that is what happened on my RTV900, I was without insurance for about a month and didn't know it.

I wasn't aware Kubota offered insurance after you paid off the loan....interesting.

The Kubota insurance is much better than my homeowners. I asked the dealer if I could continue it once the loan was paid off. He said they were not doing it at this time.

I disagree with your dealer. I just bought a rtv and while researching insurance,
i called KI and yes, they do offer insurance after your paid off. the rate worked out to about .75 cents per $100.

Second on insurance without financing through them. Your dealer is wrong

I think this is something that they recently started. I got a notice that my insurance was being canceled because the note was paid off. Then I get a phone call from Kubota Insurance the same day I got the notice wanting to know if I would like to insure the RTV900. I renewed and got the policy in the mail a few days later.

So they do insure after the note is paid off but I don't know the details of what they will or will not cover.

According to my conversation with KI, coverage is the same as when you had it under the note. If you add additional items to the RTV that were not on the original invoice, you can get it added as long as it is a Kubota item, such as a cab.

My insurance company was cheaper than what Kubota offered. I pissed and moaned about getting it, but under 20 hours I put a stick through the radiator. Instead of $1000 it cost me $0, I guess crow doesn't taste so bad after all.;)
