Kubota B6100D
I am having a problem with my Kubota B6100D. When I first start it everything seems OK. I can raise and lower the back blade with no apparent issues. I can shift and move the tractor with no apparent issues. But, when I raise the front bucket to dump is when transmission fluid starts leaking out from around the rubber boot on the shift lever.

Sounds like you have the hyd oil way over filled. Check the oil level when all hyd cyl ran in and the 3pt down.

I will check but I have not added any oil lately and I have used the tractor in the last 2-3 weeks. This just seemed to have started in the last few days. Let me check it while everything is 'at rest'.

Thanks LeeJohn. I would have sworn that I didn't overfill it last time but it looks like that resolved the issue once I drained about a pint of fluid.

Do you have a dip stick? If that is all you took out, it might still be over filled. I guess it wouldn't matter as long it's not building up pressure. I'll look at the parts manual tonight and see if I can find a dip stick. If I find one I well get back to you. Maybe someone with a 6100 well pop in and let you know.
You didn't see any water with the oil did up. You might of put the right amount in and water got in it.

LeeJohn,
I do have a dip stick and it is just barely above the line on the dip stick. I may drain a little more off tomorrow to bring it right to the line. This has gotten me to thinking that this is probably a good time to change the transmission fluid and clean the filter. Thanks again for your help.

I keep 'modifying' the electrical as I have had a lot of trouble with the ignition switch. I changed it once and it acted up again after a couple of years so I rewired the glow plug/starter circuit and installed a double throw spring loaded switch. Been fine ever since. My next project is to look at the brakes.

The 6100 looks like it would be a good little tractor. There was one that set up on a state hwy for 2 years that was for sell. One day I stopped and looked at it and the guy wanted 2500.00 for it and a mmm. I said I would think about it and wouldn't you know it he sold it the day after I was there.

I bought mine used about 15 years ago to help haul some retaining wall stones (about 200 tons). Since then it has paid for itself many times over. It has a front loader and a back blade. I use it now mostly to plow the driveway (about 400') in the winter and to grade it in the summer. I would recommend a B6100D in a heartbeat.

Vent? I didn't think of that, where is the vent on the B6100D? As it turns out, it is a mute point as the problem was that the transmission was overfilled. I drained some fluid and now everything is OK
