I have a Kubota B6100 that has descided not to start. It cranks ok it has fuel and the glow plugs are working. It started first spin yesterday after not being started for a couple of months. I used it for an hours or so with no problems. Now it just blows black smoke, trys to go but won't.

I've cleaned the injectors, tested the glow plugs and made sure I had fuel at the injectors.:(

Perhaps try leaving the glow plugs on for a little longer prior to trying to start the tractor?:confused:

Did you try and crack the bleeder screws to see if you have fuel coming out? Is the compression release, released?

How do you know the glow plugs are working? One test with a volt meter is to measure the voltage at the plugs (obviously 12VDC when on). Prior to that test, check the volts on the battery and see if the voltage starts to drop when the glow plugs are on. If no drop, then you might have bad plugs.

Ain't too much to a diesel.

How did you test the glow plugs? The only time mine did this I had no voltage to my glow plugs. I fussed with a couple connectors behind the dash and it came back. You may also want to check the air intake/filter for obstructions.

Egon, I tried that first twice as long

Nostep and KubotainNH I tested the glow plugs by removing them and watching them glow when reconnected to the cable.

I Did test for fuel and the decompression is released.

Didn't notice if you said you have fresh fuel. If it sat awhile, perhaps moisture built up and you're sucking water. Try a fresh tank and flush out tons of fuel if possible.

tried new fuel no go.
Took the glow plugs out again and 2 glow bright red but one gets hot but doesn't glow. I thought it would start with 2 working. I get some new ones and see what happens.

Thanks for all the suggestions if you have any more there very welcome.

Cheers

Remove air filter and make sure it is clean and no "critters" moved into intake.

Tried that still no luck. If the new glow plugs don't work I will have to look at the injector timing.

I am away at work for a couple of weeks so won't be able to try anything until I get back.

Ross:confused::(
