IMG_0849.jpgI'm attempting to install the remote hydrauilics kit from Kubota. The instructions and pictures are pretty vague. I was wondering if someone has installed this kit and has a picture of the hose connections to the side of the transmissin behing the rear wheel.

Looking at the picture, I need to know connections that would be "Pressure Port" and "Power Beyond"?
Thanks...

Looking at the picture : middle left looks like PYor BY - power beyond, middle right looks like P - pressure , top right looks like T - tank/outlet. Hope I understood your question

Answer to how to install Kit, I removed the hard pipe hose to the 3pt hitch, one line from the new remote vavle went to the port on transmission and another went to the 3pt hitch. Teed into the rubber Tank/Return hose and that was it.

If I would have known that to add remote hydraulics, all I would have had to add was the valve, fittings, and hoses separately, it would have cost me hundreds less than the Kubota kit.

We keep trying to tell people to do it your self and save hundreds of hard earned dollars.

Other people just say to buy the kit, it is the only way. Money talks for those that have it , and you don't necessarily get the better solution.

I thought I knew the Kubota dealership owners pretty well, I've bought over $80K worth of equipment from them over the years. He told me the only way he knows how to do it is the Kubota way, which relates to $$$$$.

I have a welder, cutting torches, and plenty of iron for fabricating any type of mount for the valve. With that some hoses and fittings, this would have been just as simple as the Kubota kit but hundreds less.

Like a lot of things in life, it's all about the money$$$$$.

You think that your dealer just wants the money, says that he only knows how to do it the Kubota way. I would venture to say that he is telling you the truth. He didn't say that it couldn't be done another way, just that he only knows how to do it the Kubota way. I would say the dealer would have to charge you more money to use after market parts vs the Kubota parts. After all, he would have to charge you for all the research time, design time and custom fabrication to get this all done. To have the dealer do this, it may actually be cheaper for the customer to have the Kubota kit. I don't know of to many businesses that like to work for free, someone has to pay the guy doing all the work.

Now when you do all the work, you just saved all the time that you don't have to pay for. That is where the saving is, not in the parts. Yes the Kubota parts may be more money than the generic after market parts are, but you are paying for parts that are built for that tractor, not 1000 other machines that "it will work on". ;)

Just my :2cents:

I don't necessarily agree in the fact that the parts in the kits are better. and made for the tractor.

They probably use the same manufacture of parts that the owner could purchase, valves, hoses, fittings, electrical.

By the time an owner has rounded up all the parts and installed same, the workmanship is probably as good as the dealer, and the owner has the satisfaction, of saying I did it and I learned something.

The only advantage in the kits, is the assembly may go together with out any fuss, and doesn't have to measure and make the hose sets, etc.

Some people never do things for themselves, and rely on other people to round up the parts and do the labor, and they feel that the pkg is worth it.

Any common sense person with a little knowledge of mechanics and hyd in general could redo the complete tractor. You see this being done all the time by the post on TBN and with the help of many people here passing out free advice and help.

About the only satisfaction of letting someone else do the job, is being able to say I am glad I did not have to do that, and I did not get dirty, and did really good on my golf game.

Some jobs I know I can do but I let other people do, mainly because of time.

I would encourage everyone to do it your self and have that satisfaction.

Those that don't have the time and have the money to spend, then that is probably the only way to go for them.

Time is money to a lot of people and rightly so, because it is getting harder to come by it.

To those that want to do things for themselves, more power to you.

You are not going to go to Surplus Center and purchase a control valve and control levers that are integrated into the construction of the tractor such as the units used on the deluxe Kubota tractors. Those are purpose built valves and are built for the manufacturer for their specific requirements.

Yes, any of the OEM valves that are just bolted onto the ROPS for example can be duplicated and probably even have better valves for less money and are not really that big of a deal to install. In these situations, if the person is handy and has the tools and time, then they may be better off going the aftermarket route. ;)

Well, I am pretty handy and since I put this kit on myself although it wasn't easy, it wasn't that difficult either. I know the Remote Kits that Kubota sells aren't manufactured by Kubota but by a third party here in the U.S.

When I inquired about this to the dealer, he acted like the only way this could be done is a different adapter valve on the tractor to allow fo an extra port. Wrong, no extra valve, just tying in to existing hydraulic lines is all that is needed. That I could have done myself if I have researched this before I committed to the kit.

Lessons learned!!!!!

Is the set that is supplied by a 3rd party to Kubota for your tractor integrated into the tractor? No, it hangs off of the ROPS doesn't it? Yes you would have been better off to do the whole thing yourself. In your case, yes a person can be better off money wise doing the whole setup themselves rather than using the "Kubota kit" .

Go to the Grand L or the M series tractors and this is not the case. And I still think that unless the dealer did aftermarket sets all the time, it is still going to take more time, just because they would have to work with the unknown just as you would. They have to track everything down, measure for this, that and the other thing. It all takes time. no one wants to work for nothing. ;)

I can only speak for the "B" series. I would think it should be integrated not hanging off the ROPS. In time I will hopefully do away with the 3/8" steel bracket that attaches to the ROPS and come up with somthing less obtrusive.

Shouldn't take long to measure for a total of 5 hoses for the dealer. Again it's all about the money, it's their time or my time. Good thing for me my time requires a lot less money.

Yes sir, and that's how a person saves some $$$.

Is the loader valve down there where all the hoses are going to or is it hooked to the loader subframe? If it is hooked to the sub frame I'll show you some picture how I have mine. Maybe you can get ideals from it. Just maybe you might do it something like mine even if the loader valve is down under there.

I had forgot about the picture in your 1st post and I see the valve isn't hooked to the sub frame. I'll post some pictures tonight and maybe you can get some ideals anyway.

Hi guys & gals:
Well I got my Kubota kit from a guy in Canada for a little over $ 300.00. With JJ's advice it took me 3 days & $ 100.00 in extra tools I bought. Anymore it takes me time to figure things out & do something, getting old is no fun. I still can not get it to raise my single hose sickle bar. Gave up on it for now, just chained the sickle bar & cut my creek banks. JJ, THANK YOU for your help. LOve my B3200 though.

If the cyl on the sickle is a SA cyl, connect the hose to the B port and plug the A port.

You should be able to extend the cyl.
