Sweet. Maybe there will be a backhoe under my tree this year :) Enjoy!

Sounds like $18k with the loader and mower is fair.

Do you have turf tires, is that why you have the chains?

I am thinking of selling my 1992 kubota b20 and 2000 great dane zero turn and getting a new 2920 to replace both.

How do you guys like it? Its gonna be used for mowing, snowplowing, moving dirt and gravel, logs etc.

I dont think the 2920 would be near as good as a ZTR for mowing. Mine has turfs and it is not bad on the grass unless you make real sharp turns. If you have a open pasture or dry bermuda this might not be a problem but I have fescue plus rain and shade so I have to be careful.

No tractor can actually "replace" a zero turn, but nonetheless, if you have a large, rather open area, the B series will mow just fine. I have R4s and they have not hurt my grass whatsoever. Yes, it was a pleasant surprise.

I do a couple things. I drop my FEL, as I don't want the obstruction, nor the weight on the front end, during turns. Of course, I never use 4x4 as the yard is flat and there's no need to damage grass with that being used.

I pull an RFM, so your experience may be different with an MMM.

Thanks for the post. The zturn is a great dane stander, so I am looking forward to sitting while cutting, even if the cut isn't quite as pro.

I mow 2 properties next to each other. Probably 3.5 acres total flat and open.

The next hard decision is the turfs or the r4's.

Can you create mowing stripes lke a zturn with the mid mount?

A couple of things I noticed with my 2920 and the 60" MMM I have. I got R-4's, had I known of a tire called "barred turfs" I would have tried to get them instead. Anyway, my r4's are damaging the grass (my 4.5 acres is flat/gentle roll) unless I try to turn way too sharp, but they do leave impressions in the soil when it's damp, That makes the yard very rough to walk across. The other thing is the stripes from the front tires. I'm speculating, but when the yard is somewhat dry the front tires seem to press the grass down and it doesn't stand up fast enough to be cut the same height as everything else, so I usually have 2 strips of somewhat higher grass for each pass I make. For the record, neither of these bother me, but for some folks they would be a real setback.

I get the same thing from mine and Iv'e tried going slow...going fast...over lapping...faster engine speed and it just doesnt seem to matter it always does it.

The only way I've seen that the effect of a large/heavy front tyre pattern can be avoided , is to cut short so that there's not much to pop-back up.
My neighbour scalps with his MMM 'bota , and gets no uneveness
since there's no grass left to be uneven ............
I cut at 3 1/2" to keep it green and drough resistant , but it's not even.
This is worse if you've got dense/thick grass , as I have.

Do you have a problem with your 2920 running on the warm side? I have a bx1860 and have had the misfortune of tearing up a cooling fan. I do rinse the radiator and clean the screen.
