Any assistance would be appreciated. I do daily/weekly/monthly PMCS IAW the owners and operators manuals I have been able to find, but nothing covers replacement of the shuttle shift lever.
I have removed the 4x screws holding the steering box cover to chassis under the steering wheel and used a 10mm socket to remove the threaded screw that holds the lever in place on the left side of the steering column, after removing the hand throttle on the right-hand side. There is just enough room to get a small socket wrench onto the bolt head closest to the operator info panel, but the threaded bolt just turns in place.
Can I simply encourage the threaded bolt to come out with the caress of a hammer then replace it with a replacement pin or do I need to unscrew it as it is attached to something in the shaft I cannot see?
It appears that I can tap the bolt out to remove the collar to reweld the shuttle shift leaver back onto the collar or?
Thank for your insight!
I will attach pictures in a bit
