My lovely wife has decided that we need to hang one of those decorative stars on the side of our house. The star is about 2' dia. and the side of the house has 4" lap siding. My concern is that it will be perfect for hornets to nest behind (we have lots of them around our house). Is there any type of chemical or substance that I can put behind the star to deter the hornets?

I have used Cynoff for years successfully. It also uses cypermethrin, doesn't stain the house or siding and the residual lasts months. It is pricey at $82. a quart, but that makes 64 gallons so it will last years. I normally make a half gallon batch and spray down all the shutters. The stuff really works wonders. Cynoff

Mike and Dan,

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to try the Cypermethrin idea.
