Cable position lends itself to getting filled with water/rain, dirt, etc…

Cable lube as often as you can remember!
Motorcycle/ATV type shops will have it.

Fisrt time it broke, I could grip the wire with a vicegrip and pull it. This time it seems the wire is cut at the level attachment and has slipped into its envelope. Didn’t find an easy alternative solution yet…
I was asking if you couldn't just move the PTO lever going into the transmission. Bypass the cable. That is if you need to get it going badly enough.

The spring is to help it stay OFF so if the cable doesn't lock in the ON position, it will naturally kick out of gear. (I just tried to do that!!!)
That’s why Vicegrip worked …

Cable changed, pretty easy task. This cable doesn’t seem to be meant to be lubrificated but spring sure is. My no mechanic feeling.
