Richard, your type BBs are obviously better, about every professional gave up on the roll overs once your style with the hydraulic rippers became available. Just need to remember that the ROBBs were what was used commercially into the 80s. As far as for home owner use, pull the lever and you have all of your rippers ready for use in just a few seconds vs stopping, no hydraulics needed. Also with a ROBB, most of the time you set your top link and you are done, no reason to constantly be adjusting the top link like on a std BB.
So what it comes down to is that with no hydraulics available for aux hydraulics, the ROBBs are by far easier to use and get a pretty good out come. They are relatively heavy duty, not so much compared to industrial-commercially used units with hydraulic actuated rippers, (about 20-25% less in weight) but compared to most of the std type BBs with the single adjust rippers. They are strong enough to hold up to a 12,000lb tractor using them without damage.
My opinion is that for Johnny home owner that has more than a little grading to do and does not have or want to pay for rear hydraulics, that the ROBB is a better choice.
