Ford - New Holland 1520
I am in need of making a "mixed marriage" of a John Deere model 7 backhoe and my Ford 1520 tractor. The 1520 is 4wd with Hydrostatic transmission and also a front blade attachment. The JD 7 came with the sub assembly for a John Deere 750 Tractor.

A few questions:

  1. Is this even possible?
  2. Can the JD sub assembly be modified to connect to the 1520?
  3. Will I need a pneumatic pump to make this all work?
  4. What needs to be done to have the hydraulics work with the backhoe?

When I look at the specs of a JD 750 Tractor and compare them to the Ford 1520, they look very similar to the Ford 1520. Actually the 1520 out weighs the 750 by 500lbs and has slightly more horsepower. The Ford 1520 also has a 6.4 gpm flow. I really would appreciate any guidance in this matter.

ThanksInAdvance, --CPT Tom
