John Deere 5225 error code 8888.8.8 on speedometer / hour meter

My 2007 JD 5225 is giving me an error code 8888.8.8 on the digital speedometer / hour meter. Also, the tachometer appears to be reading wrong. Normal idle speed is 900 rpm and the tachometer is reading about 1300 rpm at idle. The idle sounds normal. The 8888.8.8 code starts flashing when the key is turned on. The tractor is operating normally.

If anyone else has had this problem and figured it out please let me know. Thanks for the help.

I had to replace the entire instrument panel. The instrument unit cost around $600.00 from John Deere. All I had to do was unplug the old one and plug in the new one. Expensive fix but it all works now.
