He repeated, "Your backhoe won't fit the JD subframe..." then
walked away. I followed him, then I asked again, "how much for the subframe?" He answered that I'll need two subframe...one for the tractor and the other for the backhoe to attach on the tractor and probably will cost a lot...over $900-$1000". I guess he dissuaded me rather than refused to sell but bottom line, I won't buy from him.
Then I went to the parts counter, asked the cost for a subframe. Parts man looks in the computer then says that I'd have to buy the subframe from the salesman...he can't sell it at the parts counter /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.
I went home then called another JD dealer up north who quoted $305 for the subframe.
With the high cost of steel, it'll be cheaper for me to buy one then modify it rather than buying raw material and fabricating one.
