I guess I should have bought NEW vs USED . $40.00 , I can live with that . Its a great tractor , so if thats all thats wrong with it I'll be happy !! 20 hrs so far !! :D

It is still under warranty correct? That is the whole point.

The tractor has 20 hrs on it, or you've put 20 hrs on it since you got it? We are confused on the warranty issue. I'm impressed with your attitude.

:( no warrenty left :(

If the service bulletin was dated before the warranty lapsed, you could probably insist the dealer or Deere covers it. I do think the Dealer should have, just for good customer relations.
However, 40 bucks isn't going to break the bank...goochy just needs to determine how much effort he wants to put into getting his money back.

I am curious as this should have been addressed by the prior owner, but $40 bucks to fix it and Goochy can continue with his projects seems the easy way to go imo.

Just curious why the service bulletin wouldn't cover non warranty units? I'd think any dealer worth his salt would be happy to make it right.

Matt:confused:

Warranty only covers a certain number of hours and a fixed period of time. If a machine has 25 hours on it, but is 5 years old, it is out of warranty. Suppose a customer comes in at this time and says he has had a problem "since new". The manufacturer would not be willing to cover this failure. The dealer should not have to eat it. The owner has a responsibility to report problems in a timely manner. You would be surprised how often we hear similar stories.

Is it leaking around the dipstick or the fill cap? Keep in mind that hyd oil expands when it gets hot.
I found this service bulletin.

I see the 3x20 series on that. I wonder if I should get the parts even though I'm not seeing hydro leaking? I'm still under warranty.

Yes, I would like to see how your dealer handles this.

If I had bought tractor new , it would be fixed . but I got it USED , so ............. I am just happy he lowerd the price . Most dealers wanted $50-$60 . I had 3 different dealers tell me " Service Notices ONLY help dealers fix the problem quick " Its a guide , of what might be the cure to fix it . 3 dealers said NO to JD fixing it on a 2008 model
