I bought a M105X about a month ago I had heard they were about the same price as the JD.So I stopped by the local dealer last week and got a quote on tractor and loader and was blown away at the difference.I do not have as much buyers remorse now. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I always have buyers remorse when I look at the bank balance /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Congrats on the M105, if you live in East Texas you can drop it off at my house for a few days and I will help you break it in /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Have fun!

I am in the process of replacing a JD 6200. What seems to be a fair price for a M105X, it is difficult to figure what is good since there is only one Kubota dealer in the area. Also, any concerns now that you have operated it for awhile?

I gave $49,600 for mine that includes the LA1301S self leveling loader,7' bucket, hay spear, grill guard, water in back tires.I really do like it,the only thing i have noticed it is a little light on the backend when you have a 1,500 lb. roll of hay on the front. Oh yeah it did not come with a horn. But i put one on myself for a little bit of nothing.I also put a audible alarm on the parking brake.I am in love with the transmission and the air ride seat.

So... does that extra $13,000 get you a factory installed horn? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

All the tractors i looked at other than Kubota have a horn, you need one in a cab,it comes in handy when working around cows.

Hey, it is those little things (a horn) that are sometimes the easiest to overlook. Not sure where you are from, but that price is just about same as here. There is one other offer the dealer put on the table= buy a second unit and get 12% off both pieces of equipment. This is the so called fleet savings program. I called an out of state dealer and he confirmed the program. So he is proposing an additional $5K off the tractor plus $3K off one of their excavators (KX41). I know I can't save or "deal" myself to prosperity, but it is very tempting. Just the savings alone would amount to about $8K, which if applied to the excavator cost represents nearly 40% off the excavator price. Confusing - - yes!! financially sound, not real sure. But it would take just a few jobs to literally pay itself off.

Save me, I think this sounds to good to be true - - what do you think?

I never thought of using a horn around cows (I doubt our horses would care either. They think the tractor is a food source). I don't think I've driven a tractor with a horn. But then again, all the John Deeres I've ever driven are older models and our current tractor is a Kubota.

I wonder what the wife would say about me mounting a set of Fiamm Fultone II Series horns on the M6800? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The M105X compares more to the JD 6415, which is significantly less money than the 6420. Also if you compare retail to retail the difference is alot less than $13k. Also look at the functions on the 6420. Most of them are not even offered on the M105X.

I am wondering what is a little light on the backend?? We have a 105 and a M9 and both have 1200 pound cast centers on the drives and aired tires and we have no problems with a "light rearend". I don't use the 105 as a rule. I use the M9, but with a 4x6 round bale of chopped cornstalks on the forks I have no unstability and I'd estimate the bales at around 1500# and that's traversing a no tilled field.

On the subject of horns, I have never run a tractor with a horn and if one did have a horn, I didn't know it was there or would desire one. It you need to make noise put a straight pipe on the 105 and let the heifers listen to the turbo scream!! The guy down the road has a 4050 with M&H pistons, a Schwitzer turbo and a straight pipe....he don't need no horn.
