JD 4400 hard to start at times

Hillbilly-My 4300 was a real bear to start. I ran the battery down and had to jump it to my pickup sometimes to get it going. I then learned that if I took the fuel cap off after I used it every time, it would fire right up the next time. The temperature finally warmed up one day, and I got to looking at the fuel filter. I found that the fuel shut off valve which is sort of behind the filter was partially closed. Opened it up, and no more problems.

They had to put a new solenoid on again!!The o-ring was bad and allowing oil to leak into solenoid,thus not allowing the solenoid to function properly(at least that is what they think).The John Deere rep said they have never had a problem like this.So far they I am giving them an A for effort.
