My 4520 did the same thing. It was a broken wire, not the switch itself. The lead broke about half way between the switch and the connector where it rubs on the trim. I replaced the wire with some high quality high strand count wire and re-installed. You might want to do some checks with a multimeter to see if it is the wire or the switch itself. May save you a few dollars.

I did not pull the wire all the way out, I was going to tap the new one to it and pull it through. Now that you say that, I will tie a sting to it and pull it through to check it! Since, I ordered the part, I'd just add it to my spare parts pile if the wire is worn. I'm betting it may happen again.

How much of the seat area did you take apart to get that harness out. It looks to be bundled with a bunch oh other wires before It goes under the seat.
