I have the chance to buy a two bottom JD trip plow with coulters, I think they are 16" might even be 18". Old fellow says make him an offer, after a little prodding he suggested $250 but was open to offers. Does that sound fair to you guys? I hay his 10 acre field for free and he is a very nice fellow, don't want to take advantage of him.

$250 is a very fair price. I wouldn't complain paying more than that since you cut his fields for free and could be sellin the hay for profit.

A workable two bottom plow around here starts at $300-$350 and go up to about $500. Maybe offer him $300 or $350 and you will be getting a fair deal and he should be happy. Good neighbors are hard to come by.

Ha, last year my father figures I made 37 cents per hour haying last year, that's if I don't count his hours. We don't sell much, just feed our own animals. I like the idea of giving him $300, worth the money and shows good will to others. Thanks
