Yep, made the last payment on my 2013 3032E today. Man that feels good to have something paid off that still works as it did the day it was delivered.

I remember the last check I sent in for mine. I think it was a couple years back now. I believe I titled the post "mine all mine"

Same feeling you get right away when you paid cash.

Not really, I elected to keep my $20k in the bank and use JD 0% financing for 5 years. Made sense to me. But, whatever blows your dress up

0% financing is genius marketing. Us consumers not only bit, we swallowed the hook. :)

My father taught me something a long time ago that I never knew was so true... nothing in life is free.

0% for 5 year option generally includes a dealer fee for the dealer to use the program, which is added to the cost of the tractor. That said, I don't know the tractor business, but I find it hard to believe people will loan money out with absolutely no return on investment. I believe legally you can not charge for financing, but you can offer a cash discount (just like the "handling fees"). Generally though, the 0% option is the lowest amount you'd pay on the entire loan compared to other finance options where the dealer fee may not be as high, but the APR is.

Congrats on "owning" your tractor. Peace of mind knowing no one can now 'legally take it'.

Congrats on owning your tractor!!!!! I have always thought as some of you, that you can get a better deal with cash. However, the last several years my experience has been that all the incentives are toward financing. In other words, even with cash in hand it is more often a better deal to do financing. With cars I have found that they will give you much better deal when you finance with them (and then pay it off is a few months) then if you just pay cash to start with. I think they are trying to "hook" you into paying all the financing.
