Just some random thoughts, maybe somebody knows some answers:

Is that the transmission input shaft that runs clear up to the clutch disc? If so, then it may be unique to very few models.

And another question: will inquiring at 'New Hoye' start an inquiry at all of the salvage yards in that network?

Finally - I've long had a suspicion that Powershift is an adaptation of the AT used in Japanese cars of the same era. Most likely Datsun, which had a lot of components from outside suppliers. In principle, same transmission except using a clutch in place of the torque converter. So, possibly sharing many internal parts. Anybody know? This could possibly be a new channel for Powershift clutch plates etc and possibly the input pump.

Anybody?

Item-18 is just a dual ended spline shaft with a key. Nothing special. If he has a broken one or stripped one, it's easy to fabricate at a local shop. Oh, he's in MA, Lots of places do fabrication over there. There are plenty doing Aerospace work in that state.

The key is knowing the size and material.
For the basic rod, Titanium isn't too bad. This would require diamond lath cutters or certain cobalt milling bits.

Another option for material is Tungsten Carbide.

Bronze 316 for shafts, gears and bearings is another good choice.

Lastly is Carbon Steel 300M. It will work. Bet the original is very close to this material as it's a torqued shaft. Yet, it could fail again.
Once machined, it has to be coated in a thin clear oil to prevent corrosion.

Not sure you want that simple and easily-reproduced part to be tougher than whatever it connects. It seems to have functioned as a fuse in this instance.

Then the last two options are fair choices then.

The 336 uses the same shaft is what I came up with. Pretty much SOL.. Repair it and that's all the broken parts it needs?

Anybody know an A/T rebuilder? Show them that diagram.

There's a chance that this shaft might be a common part. I can't believe that Yanmar invented and built Powershift all by themselves when its function is so similar to an automotive A/T.

Poster needs to check with Hoye? Esp. if it's a common Part ?
