Iseki TX1510
Learned tractor owners I Have an Iseki TX1510. The Oil pressure light has started to come on very quickly when I throttle off completely (ie stop the engine) but also at very low revs.

Someone suggested i purchase a pressure test kit as a first step which I have Can anyone suggest where this should be 'attached' e.g. oil pressure sender switch 'hole' ?? Just FYI the engine in this model is the Mitsubishi K3B

Many thanks in anticipation of your kind replies

I would remove the sending unit from the block and attach the pressure meter there. That way you have a ready made attachment point and can read exactly what the pressure switch would read. Incidentally, pressure switches do fail from time to time and the usual mode is to indicate you have low pressure when you don't. I do recommend actually measuring the pressure though, just to play it safe.

Hello again finally managed to check the oil pressure today just now and its 'ranging' between 6.5 and 7 PSI - what would be the expected norm learned people?

If you're running the correct oil viscosity it should probably idle at twenty to thirty pounds - possibly more when cold. Below ten or fifteen is really low. You may be using the wrong oil. The spring in your oil pressure relief valve may be tired. The oil pump may be shot. Your crankshaft bearings could be worn beyond tolerance. Some of these are inexpensive fixes but the bearings are kind of major.

Hey ballaterach ! I take it your Iseki TX1510 has a Mitsubishi K3B engine there allot of other items that You might need to check this is a good sight to checkout as far as oil pressure Home - Capital Reman Exchange none of these are expensive but it does list other probable causes of low oil pressure.

Hey sounds good (y). Glad to know when it turns out good & it was just a miss reading.

recently had oil pressure fail when doing some heavy climbing on hill sides. Long story short; pressure switch okay, oil SAE30 ok, it hardly ever happens an oil pump fails and spares are hard to get. Measuring manufacturer's build tolerance is too specialistic to do. I now take the work I'm doing much slower and all is okay :)
