I was checking under my trailer today & noticed something with the suspension. The metal where the rear leaf spring comes through the mount slightly bent from the spring on both sides. Looks like the hole wasnt quite big enough for the slipper spring to poke through on the back side. Looks like it's just a thin brace panel on the back & the thicker pieces on the top & sides is intact.

Suspension seems to be functioning fine otherwise. The Diamond C deckover power tilt is about a year old & pretty sure its still under warranty. Debating if it's worth taking into the dealer or just leave it as is & occasionally keep an eye on it. 20180818_155343.jpeg20180818_155349.jpeg20180818_155354.jpeg20180818_155412.jpeg20180818_155422.jpeg

I'm no where close to being an expert on suspension, but that looks odd. Is there supposed to be a pin or bolt going through the holes?

Personally, I'd have it checked out to be sure everything is good. But, it may just be my ignorance playing on it.

Possibly, but not super likely. The trailing end of slipper springs aren't secured. They generally have a higher capacity than other configurations. But the fact they are unsecured can be an issue on rough terrain (this configuration seems to keep the unsecured end from falling free).

Slipper Spring Trailer Suspension System Review | etrailer.com has some interesting info on slipper springs.

Not a suspension expert or even novice, but I do think that there should be some sort of roller mounted on a bolt thru those holes. This roller would ride on the springs allowing a smooth action.
There is no reason to have those holes unless there is supposed to be something attached there. I assume that both sides are the same on your trailer. I would at minimum go look at other trailers to check out the design.

That hole is there for a bolt, to stop the spring from coming out of the bracket, during flexing on rough terrain, but it looks like yours has a channel welded in connecting each side, and that Channel is stopping the spring from coming out, so no need for a bolt or pin.

I have seen rubber placed on top of the springs, where yours is slightly bending the mount. U could do that if u don’t like the metal getting deformed.

Nothing is missing.

I am like everybody else but this does not appear to factory installed maybe someone added this to up load capacity is there any name branded on the hanger or any brackets such as new life hendrickson . I do agree with the others you might want to get it looked at there should be a spring and suspension shop close to you. If you cannot find one email me wmbecton@comcast.net can find you one close by to you.

Guys seriously?

There is nothing wrong, this is where the leaf springs slide when under weight, if this end was mounted solid, the leaf springs would not be able to flex, and there would be no suspension.

everything is A ok.

I used to have a 14k PJ with slipper springs, the setup looked like OPs photos with minor differences.

As new as the trailer is, it seems the end of the top spring sure is wearing through the channel pad. I don't think it is going anywhere but how much will it wear in 10 years?
