Presumably they stopped because so many were using them to make crystal meth?

I thought it was because of the FedEx plane carrying millions of Lithium batteries that crashed and burned (or, was that burned and crashed)? No rhyme nor reason to what they will ship or not ship.

They won't ship anything Lithium to Alaska any longer. Probably because it comes by Air. I have to by lithium batteries locally at 2-3 times the Amazon price. It irritates me.
On a good note, a pair of alkaline AAs in one freezer sensor has lasted over a year so far.

Get Hobo Shoestring to bring you some Lithiums the next time he catches out to Alaska.
They are working on getting a railroad built from Alaska thru Canada to the Lower 48. Both Hobo Shoestring and I will probably be long dead before that happens. Great idea though.

I have been given 3 side by side refrigerator /freezers in the last two months just to get them out of peoples way due to them not working.
Having been in the business for many years, I repaired these three side by sides for cheap money. All they needed was the overload /relay kit to get them up and running.
However, last week I was given a newer side by side. Again, to get it out of someone's way.
Got it home to find out it had a bad /burnt circuit board on the back .
It will cost me $150.00 to replace the board.
It seems the manufacture has figured out we are able to repaid the older types, and have now installed circuit boards
