I guess either way doesnt really matter, The tig should do any aluminum I might want to weld and I could always add a spool gun to my miller mig if I really wanted one. The dealer that sold him the machine new is printing out all the books for the machine, so I can go over them next wk and learn a little more. And, I can always just go to the dealer and ask him, he's always eager to try and sell me something.lol

I only ran a couple of beads with the machine, boy it welds sweet. Just buzzes, non of the cracking and popping I am used to. I am debateing selling my old lincoln ac/dc tombstone since it doesnt look Like I need it anymore. I bought that machine back in the late 70's, early 80's. If I had a dollar for every rod that machine has burned, I could build a new house. I might hold onto it for a while tho just because......

I wont get to do much welding with the machine for a few weeks because the wife and I are heading west on vacation. When I get back, I will be building a firewood processor and I am actually looking forward to melting some rods. It aint work if you think its fun!!

If you "need" it, try it.
If you like it buy it.

Looks like you got yourself a winner. And you are absolutely right. Nothing like a good quality tool to turn work into a fun project. I haven't burned a rod in a couple of weeks and am getting the itch again .... !
