I bought one: L3000DT

well, my intentions were to bargain for a great deal on a B2410. when finding that the salesman could sell the B2410, with R4s, 4' box blade, 4' rotary cutter for $12, 255 (which is a good deal from the research i have been doing. . .at length), i began asking about the L3000DT. i had decided (before arriving at the dealership) that i wanted the B2410 b/c of the HP over the 7500 but was not excited about the price. the salesman new i could get a better deal (b/c i told him) at another dealership. however, after driving the 2410's HST (or HSD?) i was not too impressed (i guess i would rather "know" what gear is selected for the job?). salesman proceeded to point out "cruise control". . .impressive. . .but not necessary for my needs. when i looked at the undercarriage of the 2410 i was discouraged to see lines, cabes, rods, etc. . .i knew i was going to be driving in some rough brush, etc and did not want to risk pulling one of those lose. . .i must say, the high back seat is a plus. well, i have driven the L3000DT before and felt it would be too much tractor (4 years from now when only needed for light dirt work and mowing/brush hogging). i wanted the 2410 b/c of small size and live PTO. . .after working some figures i feel i got a GREAT DEAL. . .see if you agree? ? ?

rmilho, where is that dealer? did you price the FEL? i am shopping for a L3000dt but can't buy for about two more weeks. i have to get one before the rebates go out. i bought a place with 17 acres and will be closeing soon. i have to have something more than a craftsman riding mower to mow the place .
i don't live to far from you in arkansas.

that sounds like a nice price for that unit without hydro and no fel. may i ask why u decided on no fel? handiest darn thing,the great tractor driver in the sky invented/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

soarkrebel, If you are willing to drive a little, give Dinsmore Tractor in Shawnee, Oklahoma a call. A couple of us TBNers have bought L3000DT's there. Here's what I bought. L3000DT, Kubota loader, Woods 5' Brushbull, Woods 5' boxblade, sitting on a 16' dual axle trailer (7000#) with ramps and new tires for $15,650. That's their asking price, no haggle. It does include the rebate. I live 250 miles from there, and unlike the JD post, I had no trouble whatsoever. I have had the tractor for over a month with no problems.

dr pepper. . .that's a great deal also. . .great work! well, i am currently po' and could not get the FEL. . .i will do the "poor man technique" and use a rear dump bucket and lots of box blading. . .i think the extra time will still not earn my $2500 dollars back that i would probably spend on a FEL? maybe it will?

That is a great price for the L3000DT. I bought one a year ago with a FEL for close to the same price when you consider the cost of the loader.

I really like the tractor and the FEL is as handy as a pocket on a shirt. Only problem I had was a piece of forgien material in the 3PH hydraulic valve, which the dealer fixed in a day.

I hope you enjoy your tractor as much as I do mine.
