I bought a TX1300 with rototiller yesterday at an auction for $2500. If it wasn't for one other guy bidding against me I could have bought it for $1500. Do you think $2500 was high? Either way I really wanted it and plan on using it so I was willing to take a little hit. It starts right up and purrs like a kitten. I talked with the owner and he has owned it for about 15 years with minimal use, he stored it in the barn. He did tell me years ago he had to replace a piston on it. I have a few questions before I put this little tractor to use.

1. Can someone email me a copy of the owners manual/service manual/any manuals you have for this tractor? A few weeks ago one of you sent me a link to the manuals but the link is not working for me. Is there a separate manual just for the Mitsubishi engine?

2. When I turn the key the oil light does not come on. Am i correct in thinking the oil light should come on briefly? None of the three lights on the dash have lit up yet.

3. I am not positive the glow plug is working. When I put my finger over it I can feel warmth, but I do not see any type of red light. The tractor starts right up so either it is working, or it just starts easy in 70 degree weather. If the glow plug is bad are they available?

Thank you

Looks like a clean tractor to me. I picked up a copy of the manual from here, most of iseki tx are quite similar. Yes I believe the oil light should come on with the key on. Id check the bulb.
The glow plugs can take 20 or more seconds to come on while holding the switch over to the glow setting.
I got my owners manual at http://domania.us/gts-today/tr.../Iseki-H1704-Owners-Manual.pdf

I tried that link but I am getting an Error 404 come up. How exactly do I check the bulb on these tractors? Does the red lens unscrew from the top or do I need to get behind the dash to get to the bulb?
Thanks

Sorry about the link, I just checked this one that works https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...WMAB6BAgJEAE&usg=AOvVaw1zysfnbanYVBLhm1i4eLcL

I have a parts manual and the service manual for my Bolens 1502 (a relabeled Iseki) and neither gives good details about the bulb. My guess is from the top, but I haven't had one apart. There isn't much room behind the dash as you've probably seen. On mine, turning the key to on gets me both the oil light and the alternator light. I also checked the temp light (someone here suggested it when I changed the coolant) for peace of mind.

When you turn the key to the on position the oil light and the charge light should come on.
After you start the engine the lights go out unless there is a problem.
send me a private message with your e-mail and i will e-mail you
the users manual, parts manual and service manuals in pdf files.

I believe $2500 for a 4x4 tractor with tiller represents a great value. Ultimately only your own opinion of the price matters and whether you are happy with the expenditure. I can come up with a lot of spending examples that give you a much less tangible return. Consider what kind of $2500 vacation you could go on and ask yourself which would you rather have? Having something that lasts a couple of decades or a couple of weeks (at best)? Obviously there are tons of examples like this that are not "apples-to-apples". I just recently acquired my first 4x4 four-wheeler. Although still not apples-to-apples it makes for an interesting comparison between the two. The ATV sure has a much better ride and is way faster around the yard running errands which is really handy. It also can pretty much go all the same places the tractor can if not more. But the tractor has more utility capability if you need it and is much more desirable for hauling heavier loads. $2500 can easily get you a usable older four-wheeler. Again, which would you rather have or get more use out of? It might be the tractor or it might be ATV. The good news is you can have both for less than the price of either new so maybe that's the way to go.

Sorry, I thought I replied to FXRS55, not sure why it added my reply to the bottom of the list. I am still learning how this forum works.

I don't suppose you know the best way to get to the idiot lights on the dash? Do I need to remove the fuel tank? Or can I just remove the dash? Looking at it quickly it kind of looks like in order to remove the dash I need to remove the tank anyways. I am trying to determine if the bulb for the oil light is blown out or if it is a wiring issue.
Thanks.

The steering wheel can be taken off then loosen the four bolts holding the dash on and you can work it off the steering shaft. The wires don't have much slack usually so you have to play with it a bit. You might need to remove the voltage regulator to make more room. You can also take off the red caps as they are threaded. Seems like last time I did this it allowed the light socket to fall down so I had to remove the dash anyway. Check for +12VDC at the oil switch and water temp switch before doing anything (i.e. do the easy checks first). If they have +12VDC then run each to ground with a jumper wire and see if the corresponding light works. It may be fine. If not then troubleshoot the lights and wiring under the dash. If the light works when jumping to ground then the switches have likely failed.
