Has anyone had a problem with the hydro fan on their GC (busted blades)? I have seen quite a few examples on the Kubota forum, but haven't seen much on here about it.

Looks nice Larry. I'm going to assume it doesn't work with the deck on, does it?

I've never thougth to try it to see if it would fit with the deck on.The other thing is that if the deck is on then chances of anything getting up into the fan are are pretty slim. Larry

I was curious if you could just leave it up there, instead of swapping it out each time. :)

To take it off and put it on takes maybe 5 minutes.I know it doesn;t take very long at all to do.I leave the hydro oil filter guard on always and the fan guard bolts to it with 3 bolts so its simple to take off and on.The skid plate under the rear diff is held on with 2 bolts thru the rear hitch support and 2 bolts into the oil filter guard it doesn't take very long to put on and take off either.I don't like leaving it on as it will collect grass and stuff so I take it off as well.Larry

I've replaced 2 in 6 years...if a stick is really determined it will find it's wat in there...the fans are pretty cheap and it only takes about 20 minutes to change. You can do everything from under the tractor...loosen the driveshaft yoke pinch bolt, slide toward front of tractor...remove 2 bolts on fan and discard...lather ,rinse, repeat. HST Fan Part No. 4264911M1 is available at Jack's Small Engines for $18.33 net. Jackssmallengines.com 1-877-737-2787.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like not too big of a deal if it happens to break. I would still prefer a radiator-mounted cooler though.

Putting my mower on for my first mow of the season, found 3 blades broke. I was using my brush mower last week, so maybe that did it. Was going to mow anyway, but decided not to risk over heating the HST. Does not look too bad to replace, but an inconvenience for sure.... :(

Hope Massey is not too much more cash than the mentioned Jack's small engine, I live in Canada and not sure if Jack would mail one up north.
