How to get PTO to run w/o being in seat-wood chipper??

Both my tractor and my manual are up at my hunting land so I can't check the manual. Anyhow, I just bought a 3-point wood chipper (WoodMaxx) and wonder how to keep the PTO going if I am not sitting in the seat. Do you just flip the seat up?

Saw a guy shove a splitting wedge between the seat on a Kubota or Kioti (forgot what one) on a you tube video. I can do that if it is a ground/contact action, or confirmation type switch.

Figured I would ask here since Saturday I will be pretty busy unloading the chipper and hooking it up. Also needs a little assembly, no big deal.

Oh, I have a G3033H 4wd. Love this LS, I have done so much land forming/transforming with it. In fact, it is because I have cleared so much brush and trees that I needed the chipper. Got my tractor last year and it has about 38hrs on it. Before the LS I had a 1941 9N for about 15 years.

Don't think flipping the seat up will keep her running. Might have to wire a jumper across your safety switch.

Thats what i was thinking a jumper wire. Did that on my zero turn

On my kubota. I just turn the PTO on and get off the tractor. It has a buzzer that goes off for 10 seconds but tractor continues to run

I have a 4046H and have no problems with PTO generator. If I remember correctly you just have to make sure the park brake is set. The seat will not flip on mine. I had a smaller Kubota that you had to flip the seat forward within 15 seconds or so to keep it operational. Been a while since I had it hooked up so I may be forgetting something. I will check manual when I get home.

If I have my PTO on and get off the seat the PTO shuts off. Too many attachments might require the PTO to function like on a chipper so I am sure there is a way. I really get it though if and when your talking a brush hog.

On my JD 4010, I just tied the back of the seat back with a stretch cord.

At one point, I jumped a couple wires to make it work like the 4110 did. With the seat up, there's a button there that you pull up. Worked for a while.

The JD 2025R works with no one in the seat. If you sit on the seat and start the chipper and then get off it, the PTO stops. Start the PTO with no one in the seat, brake on, etc.; it's fine.

I have a JD 4100 hydro. If I flip the seat forward I can pull up on the switch to enable the PTO. Done it many times with post hole auger etc.

You can always put a 25kg bag or two of fertiliser onto the seat & strap the seatbelt around them to hold in place. Enough weight to do the job.

Set the parking brake & ensure you're in neutral. Chock the wheels too. Safety is paramount.

Once you've done that and the chipper is working, re-check the brake setting, neutral & wheel chocks.
