How to get JD990 under 20K?

There are some nice deals on TractorHouse.com, like this:

2007 JOHN DEERE 990 For Sale at TractorHouse.com

for $19,299.

When I go to the local dealer he wants minimum $21,000. How do I get a better deal?

My business partner just got a quote of 16325.00 for a 4wd model with scv's but no loader at Greenline Service Corp. in Fredericksburg, VA. I guess that doesnt help you too much though.

I have found that if you do your shopping in your local, you might be able to get a tractor shipped for $500 on a trucker's backhall. I have a quote from the JD dealer in Ohio to ship a 2520 for $650 to Florida. (and that is his Quote and a VERY good price on the tractor!)

So I went to pick up my 990 w FEL for $20k and ended up with 4320 w FEL. One thing was that they could not install the loader because a wrong front guard (they say), but also I liked the 47HP and the deal sounded good (I thought), $26K.

After some haying and little chores I was pleasantly surprised by: small turn radius, comfortable ride (space). On the other hand is worse mileage, little uneasy with the rocker switches and computers. Hope these wont break.
