Need some direction with priming grandma's shallow well pump. It has been quite a while since I had to do one. As I recall you take the pressure gauge off, fill the pump and line, replace gauge and fire it up. Does this sound right?

Yes, if there is not a larger access plug to fill pump housing. As long as pump is primed it should pull air from the shallow drop.

Yes, that sounds right. Ours had a larger plug for priming, but if the gauge port is all there is, it will do.

Total lift from water level to pump is maybe 5-6' and run is only about 30'. I put a new foot valve on and made sure it wasn't in the sediment, hopefully that will prevent any more problems. Keeping fingers crossed that the gauge isn't seized up. Thanks guys!
