Yes I have. I agree, it's really bad. As a dealer we may just be more sensitive to these things, or maybe someone brings them to our attention more often, but this is run of the mill as far as I'm concerned. This is the stuff we have had to deal with for years. "Well, the guy over here says he has a 1988 YM2000, and yours is a 1978". How do we convince them? We have lost many sales over the years due primarily to false representation of the product by the other guy. The model year misrepresentation is a very common one. 26HP is a stretch for a YM2002 as well....but it probably comes from that 4th cylinder the seller has added.
An individual in our area has done this for 3-4 years, even telling people he had "factory seconds" that got dented, etc., telling them they had full factory warranty and that WE were the warranty station. This was 3 years ago, and several people contacted us about this, so I have no doubt it was true. Amazing thing is that a couple of them were totally angry with US, absolutely convinced that WE were refusing what they had a right to (warranty service), rather than accepting that he lied through his teeth.
