I like then better than a grinding wheel for cleaning off mill scale, and smoothing. They are flexible so they wont gouge as much. But they wear out sooner. Recommended.

Yes, I use them. IIRC, they are the Warrior brand. Decent enough for me. Pay about $3.99ea at HF


I am trying out Walter 'flex steel' brand. I think I like them better...

They are $5.50ea and do seem to last longer. Tried them out as a promo awhile back and entered a little contest and actually won some very nice industrial leather gloves! Maybe I am biased because of the cool gloves. Just found them online too.

I think you'll like them, but they're not really a substitute for grinding disks or wheels. Great for light to medium duty surface grinding, and for removing mill scale and smoothing, as California says. The flap design makes it easier to feather your grinding, but the fabric/paper (?) substrate makes them less durable.

NB: HF occasionally runs a super coupon on their 36, 60 and 120 grit Warrior brand, quite a savings from $3.99! Here's one from the HFQPDB app, good now through 9-11-18.

I just bought five!

After buying a finer grit the first time, subsequently I've bought only 36 grit because it seems to me after some use they wear down to be equivalent to a finer grit. Has anyone compared this?
