25 outside this AM, heading to 50. Rain in the forecast according to the local people. We shall see.

Not much going on...may head down to the outbuildings and start securing the mowers and equipment for winter storage. Don't think we will be cutting any more grass this year.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

How do you deal with leaves? My last mowing is always after Thanksgiving, not that the grass is growing all that much by then, but I still have plenty of leaves coming off the Hackberry and Oak thru all of November.

It also gives me a chance to work the grass down to a low height for winter, to avoid snow mold. I usually mow our tall fescue 4" to 4-1/2" in summer, that's where it's most happy in the heat, but like to work in increments down to 3" to 3-1/2" for winter.

Right now, most has stopped actively growing, excepting some of the more sunny or wet areas.

Drew are you sure you need the whole vent. I would think all you need is cover.
Ron, I can't tell but thinking base is a ripped out mess, screws still in cover, one of four corner
screws ripped out of cover so only a two inch hole there.
I figured for ten bucks more I'd get the base too, so if whoever goes up there can't fix it with a new cap, then
I'll have the base ready.

pretty sure a tree limb clocked this cover, started the loosening and then wind did the rest

many trips to rv, getting some good walking in. 29 out
I left a heater on low/750W in rv all night and it's about 48 in there.
the toilet seat can get mighty cold
actually my bidet seat has a heater in it, which I turn off, just have the water heated

if I have two electric heaters on low, that's max for my rv, wiring is too lightweight and daisychained
to do more. In fact tonight's challenge is where can I plug the second one in that doesn't trip the breaker.
if it gets too cold inside, like down to 65, propane furnace will come on

going slowly, can't leave til 9am due to route past Philadelphia headed West
too many people at rush hour
Pa Turnpike slow parking lot right now, lots of red for miles, then clears out

Often heading to your neighborhood in the reverse direction, I like the new Rt. 202 parkway, as at least when I drive it, it always keeps moving. The trouble is, it's gonna let you off on County Line Road, which is also a parking lot, heading up onto Rt. 309.

Route 309 is an interesting road, I believe one of the oldest roads in the country. It was built by the Lenape (Minsi) indians, and was originally called the Minsi Trail in recognition of them. But as the city of Bethlehem grew, it came to be known as the route from Philly to Bethlehem, and thus became renamed The Bethlehem Pike.

202 to 309 south is now my way to turnpike
used to go down 611; those raised culverts on right side of road would shake the rv like mad.
no more of that, plus if you are typically almost the slowest person out there, if you just get in right hand
lane, life is so much easier.
sure wish I had adaptive cruise; am on cruise as much as possible but adaptive would be hugely helpful.
ACC used heavily in large modern trucks, for good reason.

I replaced my fridge top cover once after hail broke it. Think 4 screws, was long time ago. Not sure how to replace base if it broke.
Safe trip.
No jury duty today, will call in tonight about tomorrow. Hope not on Thursday so I can have lunch.

Reading a good WW2 book.

............
I don't have a leaf issue. The wind moves them out of the housing areas. What does not get moved usually breaks down over the winter.

Our Hackberry trees are out in the pastures and around the barn, no issues there. Our Silver Maples break down really nice and there are only about six remaining around the houses. The one Pin Oak, no issues as its leaves are also small.

I sold my chipper/leaf vac this summer. Just did not use it for a decade. LOL.

Good Morning
34° with clear sky this morning. High in the upper 40’s and continued clear is what’s forecast.

Yesterday kept me occupied from the time that I got up until bed time. Didn’t even get to sit in front of a fire.
I did get the pressure washer running again with some donated parts. At least the replacement cam has metal lobes, still has a plastic gear though.

At lunch time, I had to chase a phone issue at the restaurant. Turned out to be a broken wire in a wire chase behind a counter in a rats nest of splices. Fixed the problem and cleaned up the mess considerably, but not completely.

After that it was back to the blower mount for the Lazer. Got it almost complete, hopefully be testing it today.

Then it was making some UHMW PE parts for a friend’s bakery. It’s interesting that they use a large die cutter to cut up a sheet cake into cookies. The parts I made spaced the trays to get equal size cookies at the edges of the tray.
Of course he brought samples, just what this pre-diabetic with a sweet tooth needs to be tempted with.

Then it was back to the blower mount until dinner time, then off to the lodge meeting.

This picture popped up from when Zoe’s sister came to visit from Oregon.

Today will start off with breakfast with the professor, then the shop, followed with the hangar after lunch, hoping it will be warmer then.

And of course, what ever else pops up,,,,,,
