Thanks m7040 watching your loved one partner of over 48 years slowly slip away as if being eaten in small pieces every gosh darn day. It is heart breaking I’m trying but feel like a failure

Coffee is cooling in cup. 67° with fog this morning. Heading to 90° with a few clouds. .24" of rain in afternoon yesterday/ Parade went very good. Lots of people lined the streets of the township I live in. Sassy sure like the crowds. Stands on the passenger window thru the whole parade. No plans for today. Enjoy time on the back porch.
Going to need to put out new suet cakes today.

Morning all, 68 going to 87 and sunny.
Got the tube in the bicycle and all good without too much of a mess (rear wheel)
Then got the furniture out and into place.

Then when I went to see how the apple tree is doing, I found a large maple branch split and clobbered the pear tree.
So some unexpected tree work, pole saw and now another pile of tree parts.

Then in the pool for a few hours with wife, later brought out the dog, she was running and swimming like a possessed spirit and is sleeping in today :)

Then into town for a drink by the river and visit son at work, picked up food from lebanese place to take home.

The off to neighbors down the street for fireworks, he had some huge shells. He puts on a good show and we all gave money to the fire dept,

His house is scheduled for demo so he can put up a new house.
So he loaned it to the fire dept and the local police/swat to play with.
Interesting way to start demolition....

Son said he was doing a 5k with his friend again, after getting home at 11:30PM I said sure.
He is still asleep

Did get the house water filter and UV bulb swapped out. Lots of grit stayed in filter. When I first got the house every faucet had to be cleaned of grit and it stuck a lot of the valves.

Buppies, you are sticking by her and trying your best, that's not a failure it's you being the good husband. Medicine just has not gotten good enough to stop the progression, maybe some day.

Be well,

The poor pear tree to the right, second time clobbered by falling branches.

Cleaned up, but had to trim a few broken branches to save the tree.
Pole saw really getting a work out this last few weeks.

In town, lot of interesting cars, a 1955 Chevy passed while I was taking this picture...

Neighbor puts on a good FW show, some of the shells he put up were much larger than this. He really spends quite a bit and invites all the neighbors. Must have been 100 of us their on his lawn.

77F and Sunny @ 09:15, heading up to around 90F for the day’s high.

Woman still in the sack.

My alarm went off at 06:00, I shut it off and went back to bed.

Woke up about an hour ago, bad cramp in my left calf so decided to get up. Cramp now gone.

Got cleaned up yesterday afternoon, shaved, and put on nice duds.

The original plan was for me to head over to the Depot and have a look at those chairs and then swing by the grocery to pick up the dogs.

Woman was going to stay home and make Her macaroni salad and a dessert with the blueberries She had picked.

Turns out we were out of elbows so She decided to come along at the last minute.

Got to the Depot and went in through Garden Center, asked where the outdoor furniture was … all the way at the other end of the building.

%*#!

So we walked down there … chairs I’m looking for are nowhere in sight.

Ask an associate and are told “everything we have” is in that area.

So we go look again … nada.

The app gives no location for the item.

Ask a manager and calls someone from the Garden Center who is supposed to come down and help up look.

Finally go over to the Pro Desk and ask a guy there to look it up on his terminal and get the location of the item.

His terminal doesn’t give a location either.

So he calls the guy who was supposed to be headed down to help us locate the item and asks. That guy is going to research and says he will call him back once he figures it out.

They supposed to have like 18 of the item.

He calls back in a couple of minutes … item is located in a display in the entryway at the main entrance … which is like halfway back across the store.

Keep in mind that walking any distance for me is pretty painful.

So long story short, we scope out the chairs and they seem pretty decent and fairly comfortable for what they are … and the price is even $5 cheaper than what was listed online. $15 bucks a pop.

Woman doesn’t particularly like this style of chair (Adirondack), they don’t fit Her but suggests we go ahead and get 2 anyways for company. So we do.

Of course they won’t fit in the backseat of the car and the trunk lid won’t close with them in the trunk.

So I used the jumper cables we keep in the car to secure them and the draw string on the jumper cable bag to tie the trunk lid down.

Was quite the sight I’m sure …

Decided to head back home and unload the chairs and then Woman would head to the grocery by Herself.

Did stop by the liquor store on the way back and pick up a 12 pack of Mikes … which will handle the adult beverage situation for probably the next month.

She got some ice cream at the shop next door.

After we unloaded and She headed off to grocery I headed out and started mowing the front.

Had that half done by the time She got back.

Hebrew Nationals, Grandma’s Mustard Potato Salad and Bush’s Baked Beans for dinner … was very tasty.

After dinner I went back out and started mowing again and She headed off with the neighbor lady to watch fireworks in Akron.

Finished the front lawn just as the sun had set.

Probably head out here in a few and get some more peppers planted while I still have some shade.

Hope everyone had a decent 4th.
