65°F and .09 inches rain last 24 hours.

Wife's turn yesterday with the 24 hour bug, sure doesn't make for great days :(

Be safe
Have a great day

87F and partly sunny ... thunderstorms are poppin' from Chatham, ON to Ann Arbor, MI ... Toldeo, OH to Ft. Wayne, IN ... probably be here a few hours ...

Looks like we get a bit of a cool down after today.

Never made it up to the shop last night ... just too tired ...

Chatham is just up the road from me and Tilbury, raining here 1 minute, suns out the next, humidity getting really high.

RS, I kept losing the ends off my rippers until I figured out not to run them in reverse :duh:
LOL ...

My rippers really aren't down very often, and never when I have the box blade down and am going in reverse ... ;)

Never popped one off ... but I have managed to wear the teeth down to the point that the part of the "boot" that fits over the shank is completely worn thru and the tip of the shank itself is wearing ... I should have been a little quicker on replacing them :D

Made up a half round punch for the press to attach them, but I think next time I'll drill a 3/8" hole there and just tack them on with the MIG welder.
Mine were crimped on as well, but that's what I plan doing (welding them on) ... don't have press ...

They'll still come off in reverse, but maybe they'll survive getting caught on a root a little better?
Hopefully so ...

And 2" square tube is on the list for the next trip to the steel yard. And maybe a short piece of 2 1/2", too (I'm lazy, and have you checked the price of acetylene lately )
Oh yeah ... it's rude ...

Let us know how you make out on that plastic ... inquiring minds want to know.

It's in the shed with white sliding doors that is partially open, I've got about a 15 foot wide opening.

I've only had to slightly angle logs to load them on the mill.

Hindsight being 20/20, I really wish I had went with two wider doors and put them on the ends of the barn, rather than the three narrower ones on the sides.

Would have eliminated the issue with snow coming off the roof in front of the doors and made bringing wide stuff inside easier ... plus drive-thru and probably better ventilation. Live and learn.

instead of "taking it easy" I of course decided that half of the lawn needed mowing before I left tomorrow, so I mowed and trimmed the front half of the property. Pushing a trimming mower in ditches in this heat became a bit much. I could feel myself getting flushed and my pulse slowly increased and oh yeah, time to come in. Nice long shower and a half hour rest and i feel great.

About a five hour drive to my friends in Milton DE tomorrow. Our plans were to go to a car meet Sat afternoon, but their forecast is 94 also. Uh sir, would you please not drip on the hood of my SS396?...
well, at least this time there will be a memory card and batteries in the camera anyway.

I plan on listening to the rattle of the ac vent for the rest of the day. While Farmer and Buppies and other hay gatherers are out sweating away.

Pulled the trigger on my new storage garage yesterday after meeting with the contractor. Full pre-engineered metal building but all I can afford is a shell, but an insulated one with high quality electric insulated doors at least. Anything more inside I'll have to do myself.

Realized I'd have to move the building at least five feet further away from the existing barn. Did a test with the Kubota with the FEL on front and the mower on the rear and I could not easily make the swing coming out on the barn side. A little more room will help. I measured a need for a 17 foot concrete apron in front of each door, so basically I'm buying a lot of concrete, an insulated shell, nice insulated electric 12 foot doors, and electric. I consider that a good start and Rome was not built in a day. And I have a beer budget on this, but somehow the beer now costs as much as champagne...
no hvac, no water, but stubbing in the utility connections for later.
barn red with Clopay tan doors. I just cannot do white white doors; want to tone down that red/white contrast.

now off to do nothing. Hmmm, 4pm, it's Miller Time.
