Good morning all. The rain finally eased off enough yesterday to let the grandkids go outside in the afternoon. Our son came over too and stopped overnight, so he is going to help me dig out thistles in places that can't be sprayed this morning (he doesn't know that yet ).

In the evening I made use of the extra manpower to finally get the water tank bolted together. RNG, if you go down the metal tank route, you are going to need a friend to help with that. Make sure that person is not a prankster if you are the one fixing from inside - if they pull the ladder, you become well and truly stuck.

Drew, enjoy your well deserved rest today.

slowly waking up. I'm staying in creeper gear for awhile...

curiosity had me looking up the potato harvester from yesterday, apparently well made in Holland, combo potato and bulb lifter. It has rubber conveyors which likely damage the crop less.

Going to slowly pick veggies this morning, then take a nap, then go over to friend's house on the River for dinner, sit back and do nothing but
watch the River go by. Now that I'm looking forward to.

Went over to my wife's parents' place and along with my son and his wife, took them out for Father's Day dinner at a neighborhood Bar-B-Q place...they had run out of pork BBQ, but still had pulled chicken, brisket, cat fish, etc. Had the best sweet potatoes ever.

Yes, that must ring with many

Like a few of us, never was a Father. But that doesn't diminish
my appreciation for what my Father did for me, even if he couldn't express it well
Just wish he hadn't died so young, when I was only 27.
Never got to know him as an adult, but will never forget him. How could you.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 56° with cloudy skies this morning. Headed to 64° with rain midday. Not much planned today. I think wife is going to take me out for breakfast. Going to celebrate fathers day with kids on Wednesday.

Chores done time for E muffin.
Plans for today...Take Mrs. food shopping,check game cams,prepare something tasty for grilling,just putter.
Last evening just off the road on our land found iphone ,iphone was lock no way to contact person about hour later iphone beep saying call this number and Mrs. talk to owner said they would be right there to pick up iphone,young couple early 30's show up and never introduce themselves ask if we look at any message etc. etc. never said thank you,come to find out couple move in 4 house down the road 3 months ago...hmmm. they ain't country folks that's for sure.

Good Sunday Morning. It's 76°F, clear and 95% humidity this morning. Forecast is for on 86°F and thunderstorms (?) beginning late morning. Right now, not a cloud in the sky?

I'm thinking that this will be an energy conservation day but ..... that will be weather dependent. Sundays are usually tractor maintenance day.

Not a very good start to the day here. 66 degrees going for a high of 87 with a 60% chance of rain, according to the NWS. Well, I awoke to lots of lightning about 3 a.m., went back to sleep, then got up about 5 a.m., still lightning and thunder. And then with the daylight, it's finally quit raining and my gauge had about 1.95" of rain in it, but . . . a big old Bradford Pear tree is down in the back yard. Looks like it split right down the middle and broke off 4 or 5' off the ground.
