Good morning! 58˚ only partly cloudy - the week long rain event is over so it's back to the paver sidewalk project. The self imposed deadline of one month still looks possible.

I finished replacing all the rusted out parts on my Dad's chain link gate. All the new things he put in new when he retired in his late 50's he figured they would last 30 years so he would not have to replace them. He was right on both accounts.

Eric, that looks like an UK countryside, I think it's the muted morning light that you captured.

My sciatica is talking back this morning, along with my knee that flared up a couple of weeks back, but oh well, beats feeding the worms!:D

Drew, Drew, Drew, you just haven't been to the right BBQ place in NC, stop in the northeastern corner at some little joint on the side of the road. If you want lean and smokey, you don't really want eastern Carolina que, it needs a little fat to do it's thing! Seriously, outside of northeastern NC and southeastern Virginia, I've had maybe 3 good BBQ sandwiches, that I would consider NC style. I like other styles also, but don't tell me you're serving NC style and show up with red sauce. BBQ rant over...

Mid 40's this morning, big uptake from the 60's yesterday morning, mid 60's later.

50.2F and clear as a bell ... only supposed to hit a high of 59 today and overcast, but I'll bet we see 60F at least.

Picked up PVC P-Trap and a new photocell for the HPS light at The Depot yesterday.

Started to replace the photocell and that went as wrong as it possibly could. Insulation on some of the wires inside the fixture - including the one attached to the socket - were cooked to the point that the insulation was cracking and falling off. So I decided to remove the socket and see if I could find one on the website of the big box stores. Squeezed the two metal clips that hold it in and one of them disintegrated.

So off to the local hardware to see if they had anything, nada. Next stop was the much larger ACE about 6 miles down the road ... they had a two piece, screw-together socket that looked it should work ... $5. Then stopped at the local hardware on the way back to grab a set of wire strippers that I forgot to get previously. Grabbed a Xenon replacement bulb for the 3 cell Mag Lite while I was at it.

When I got back home the sun was starting to get low in the sky and dinner needed made so, since it wasn't supposed to rain today, I let it ride until today.

Probably get some seat time in today, working on consolidating piles of yard waste into the compost pile. Just too nice to pass up the opportunity.

Had a good day today, helped my wife out at her shop, then home to take care of the chickens and goat. Cleaned up the barn area, added to this years compost pile. I let it rot for 2 or 3 years before I use it. Then back working on my Craftsman lawn mower, I am having a bit of a problem with the drive belt. I got a drive belt the correct length, but it seems to long. I might have to break down and get the official belt from Sears.
