Popping wheelies to shake loose lawnmower cuds. I dunno. I used to bang my $139 22" Walmart Murray up and down for the same reason. After I mow our dogs hunt for lawnmower cuds and eat them like candy. I try to keep the cuds at a minimum.

Given the various offerings of riding mower lifts at places like TSC and Northern Tool, I'm going to guess that some folks are cleaning their mower decks and avoiding the pain of removing the belt and deck. None of them appear to be TBN posters other than Larro and me. :D

I simply use a chain, and lift it with my Kubota loader. I've seen those lifts, and I don't need another gizmo to trip over....:)

The TSC reference reminded me. They're building one here is town. Sign went up last week and dirt work is well underway. It'll be nice not to have to drive 30-40 minutes every time I need something. Only 10 now. May be a bad thing too. :).

I hope those of you using lifts or chains to elevate the mower decks are also using jack stands or at least a deadman of some sort to keep the thing off of you if it slips and comes crashing down?

I block the tires from behind, and put jack stands under it. I have no wish to become pizza.

I get as close as I can to the {uphill side of} latest bush planted in the yard, then get down on my hands and knees and spray under the deck with a hose and nozzle. The two RFM's give me more clearance than the two riders, but the easiest one is the push mower. I just lay something heavy on the handle and spray away. Once all the crud is cleaned off, I move the mower and rake it around the bush. Last year it was a red bud tree, this year a bottle brush. They are both growing like crazy. Lots of water and nutrient rich mulch.

I clean my 42" Craftsman mower deck at the end of each mowing season, removing it from the tractor,
prying off the grass clumps with a putty knife, wire brushing to finish the cleaning, and coat with Fluid Film.
I used to use WD40 before I discovered Fluid Film, courtesy of TBN. Then I remount the deck and store for
the winter. The mower is 15 years old (purchased in fall of 2000) and has seen plenty of hard use. Deck is
still in fine shape.
