Good Tractor Morning,
Ct, 34 to start going to 47 with sun out presently.

Finished putting out the colored Christmas lights out on the two front bushes on each side of the front door, and put up the Christmas wreath on the front door and got that lighted up also.

Grand daughter had strep throat and we took care of the kids yesterday morning, and now Kathleen is sick with a head cold. Always before the holidays 🥲

Today I’m in work, trying to figure where all the deliveries are going. Doesn’t look like a full day but that could change quickly.

Phil beautiful work as always 🙏

Hope all have a good start to their week 🙏

G'morning. Woke up to a news headline this morning, "gas powered leaf blowers banned in a Montgomery County township." Uh oh... thankfully not my township, but awful close to home.

The usual reasons were cited: air pollution, noise pollution, public health, etc...

The trouble is, it always seems to me the folks voting on these things have never actually slung a leaf blower around on their own, or live on properties too small for it to be a serious issue for them.

I've assumed all-along that these bans all pertain solely to handheld 2-stroke machines, it'd be catostrophic if walk-behind blowers were ever banned, as we're nowhere near having battery replacements for those.

Answered my own questions with a little digging on their township website. Yikes!!!

"Gas Powered Leaf Blower: Any handheld, backpack, or tow-behind leaf blower, or other device fitting thedefinition of leaf blower below, which is directly powered by an internal combustion orrotary engine using gasoline or other hydrocarbon fuel. An electric-powered leafblower that is plugged into an operating generator that is powered by an engine usinggasoline or a mixture of gasoline and oil blend as fuel shall be deemed a gas poweredleaf blower."

It seems that'd even include 3-point PTO-driven blowers. I wonder how larger property owners are supposed to manage?

I wonder if any residents will have the cahones to just relocate all of their leaves to the township supervisors' lawns. :ROFLMAO:

Good Morning to All Who Celebrate! Currently 48° heading to a high of 53° and clear. Heavy frost this morning.

Weekend was a busy one, breakfast with my buddy before the wireless hole puncher show. Nothing of particular note, everything overpriced and nothing that caught my eye at least.

Sunday was a busy day as well, spent a full day going over three properties. Two I could remove straight away, one was way too small and the other had as a next door neighbor less than 50 yards away. a lovely single wide trailer filled with reprobates who were actively burning plastic. The first one had the most promise, but the house was awfully close to the road and all the acreage was on the other side of the road in a strange shape. If it was just me, this wouldn't be as much of a problem, but I do want children and I don't need a repeat of Stephen King's Pet Cemetery. Back to the listings...

Sorry no pictures of the new to me snowblower, didn't have time to get to it this weekend. Another tree fell on the fence line last weekend, looks to be dead, so that might be more firewood. I'll probably get after that on Thursday, since we aren't scheduled anywhere for turkey day. Maybe then I can get at the snowblower too.

Main goals this week are to survive the work week, get to the tree and the snowblower. Otherwise that's about it.

Y'all stay safe out there and be well!
Prayers for all Ailing and Recovering!

29 heading to 60 and sunny.

Kyle, what are you doing with all those weed piles? Turning them into mulch? Nice shot of those pelicans. I remember when the first group moved up to Virginia Beach about 40 years ago and across the Chesapeake Bay to the Virginia Eastern Shore...that was exciting because we had never seen them north of Cape Lookout.

Yesterday was hike and swim. Being a Sunday, lots of folks out hiking.
I wanted to compost them, as they seem perfect for composting but the weeds are known as Smart Weed or Water Pepper. I was told that as they age and get big, there is toxicity to them. I don't know how toxic. I wanted nice compost soil, as almost a third of what I pulled out of the pond was the muck they were growing in. I have no way of assuring the compost mix would get to the needed temps to kill the toxins.

I guess that leaves me with burning them, but we are under burn ban. It will be very hard to burn them after a lot of rains because they will be soaked with water.
Can be treated with most weed killers successfully.
