Front axle pivot grease zerks..... or zerk

I am past the 10 hour mark on the xr3140. So, I grabbed the grease gun and got to work. Everything was all cool till the last item to be greased. The front axle pivot as I discovered, has no grease zerk or fitting on the rear half, the half that the drive shaft goes threw. Seems odd to me that there is no means to lubricate the rear half.... I am pretty sure it moves just as much as the greasable front half of the axle pivot. So I felt around and looked from all angles and confermed.... no zerk. There is no busted off half of a zerk, bolt, empty hole or plug... nothing.
Anybody elts run into this on there LS machines??

There is a bushing, seal, and a sleeve in there. The grease does go through to the rear, through the movement of the axle pivot. My dealer cautioned me about "over-pressurizing" that zerk and blowing out the seal. He said "just one pump, every now and then" ..... "not every time you grease the tractor".

Thanks LS. That is how I did grease the one fitting luckily, Just till it got tight. Interesting that the rear pivot gets grease from the front pivot, One less point for contamination incursion.

Yeah, My manual shows a rear zerk as well, I did the same searched and searched and felt everywhere for where it was missing from and determined the manual was not updated.

Just hoping I didn't blow the seal out greasing the front one.

Thanks bearsixty7. It struck me as odd, no fitting no were. On my jd 790, the fitting is in the middle of the pivot, but geased the same way few pumps till gun got tight. Thats why I greased the LS pivot in the same fashion.

On my CUT I also have that pivot zerk and it was rather impossible to reach.
I removed it, plumbed a 90 deg fitting and extended with 1/8 plumbing to a side location that made greasing a much more pleasant chore.
It is however now fairly vulnerable to being snagged but so far I've avoided doing so. (7-8 years now)
My clothing appreciates the modification.

The location of this fitting is easy to get at. Although it would not take much to add a 90 degree elbow, an 18 inch whip hose with a grease fitting on one end and route it up somewhere up so to make it even easier to get too.

UPDATE.....
At 92 hours on the xr3140h got the grease ritual.

Last one to get grease was the front pivot. I got about half of a slow pump on the grease gun and the grease oozed from the seal....

Called my dealer, told'em what happened and I'm getting an updated rear axle pivot, one with a grease zerk in it.

He talked to there LS person and that is how they are going to remedy my front axle pivot zerk for both pivot points.

I hope, I did tell the dealer mechanic about that detail too.... I suspect we will learn more when the rear pivot gets replaced.

I did tell them I was not real big on cutting loose of the tractor right now, still waiting on 700 more tree seedlings that can be ready anytime. He said the part was a week out anyways and to make an appointment when we can.
